Djordjevic, 58, a close aide of the late ex-Yugoslav President Slobodan Milosevic, was arrested on June 17 in Montenegro. Djordevic is accused of war crimes and crimes against humanity committed during the war in the Balkans in the 1990s.
He is the second Serbian war crimes fugitive to be apprehended in two weeks. Earlier this month, Serbian police arrested Bosnian Serb Zdravko Tolimir, charged with involvement in the 1995 Srebrenica massacre of more than 7,000 Muslim men and boys.
